What We've Heard at SW Kenyon St & 24th Ave SW

What we're including in our design based on what we heard from neighbors during our community outreach

  • Fix the path so it's not so muddy

  • Add more lighting

  • Improve visibility along the path

  • Replace the bridge

  • Make the path and bridge better for bikes, strollers and wheelchairs

  • Slow traffic down along 24th Ave SW and SW Kenyon St

  • Remove parking at the street end

What We Heard at the 24th Ave SW Corridor

What we're including in our design based on what we heard from neighbors during our community outreach:

  • The community highly values pedestrian safety and sidewalks

    • We are prioritizing new sidewalk and accessible ramps near schools, transit, and shops.

    • King County Metro relocated Route 22 off of 24th Ave SW to Delridge Way SW.

  • Residents are concerned about road condition on stretches of 24th Ave SW

    • Performed slurry seal preventative maintenance between SW Barton Pl and SW Trenton St in 2019.

    • We are implementing road edge treatments to convey water to NDS and installing structures to collect water.

  • Traffic speeds are a concern in some places along 24th Ave SW

    • Street trees and other NDS features offer traffic calming effects.

    • We are exploring options such as replacing speed humps and adding curb bulbs.

    • We found that the SW Henderson St and 24th Ave SW intersection does not meet criteria for a new traffic circle.
